Experiences are Everything
“Not a crumb in the last post!”
Where did the dough go?
People check in and they check out, remembering who you were and what you did last time they saw you. Life is a flow and our relationships reflect that movement.
Whether it be a reader-friend, a former colleague, an old friend, a family member — we are all in flow with our own experiences and with each other.
I was obviously in flow with Wally, the egret. Here he is as promised.
And for the sake of a good laugh, here is a fabulous meme shared by my cousin. As you will note, there is bread and there are birds. Nothing new except for the context, and doesn’t that sure say it all? Fill your life with experiences, not things.
Fill your life with experiences! Fill it with silly goals! Fill it with whatever puts you in the state of flow. You might end up with new friends. You might end up with new skills. You might have new sensations, unlike anything you ever knew was possible.
Fill your life with experiences since you don’t have much choice. Boredom is an experience. Doing things the same way, well that’s experience too. Fill today with something different, something new.
And if you do, try that something new, or reclaim something forgotten — the crumbs of joy will spread to you and to others. Depending on your choices, be sure and wear the appropriate protective gear. Helmets are sometimes necessary.
One of the key aspects of new experiences, is definitely the gear. Some gear is for the outside and some is for the inside of us.
Wallpaper your mind with curiosity. Set your internal radio to inspirational tunes, or the theme from Rocky. Embrace your “Eye of the Tiger” or maybe the Eye of the Egret. One is a bit cooler, fully of predatory swagger, the other one, well, it’s for the quirky go-getter. Imagine your mouth is a sharp, fast moving dagger, able to spear its desires. Imagine yourself on your strong, tall, if somewhat spindly legs.
Whatever feels good, or quirky, get into the flow with it.
OK, one last photo of Wally, as he was trying to play it cool and blend in with the dock. He may not be one to talk about his new experiences, but he is pretty approachable. That seems to be half the battle.

"People check in and they check out, remembering who you were and what you did last time they saw you. Life is a flow and our relationships reflect that movement." Been experiencing this a lot lately.
I love Wally!
